Burglaries reported

ffi An estimated $100 in theft losses were reported following a Feb. 2 burglary on Old Metal Road. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone made entry to a residence in the 800 block between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and took two jewelry boxes and costume jewelry.

ffi The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office reported the recovery of a woman’s purse. According to an incident report, a brown purse and its contents were found in the roadway on Pacolet Highway near Asbury Road on Feb. 1 at approximately 8 a.m. The purse, which belongs to a Spartanburg woman, was taken into evidence for safekeeping.

ffi An estimated $100 worth of lumber was reported stolen from a storage building on 7th Street. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone removed several wooden planks from a storage building in the 100 block between 9 p.m. Feb. 1 and 10 a.m. Feb. 2.

ffi An estimated $30 in theft losses were reported following a recently discovered burglary on Cherokee Falls Road. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, someone entered a residence in the 500 block between 8 a.m. Jan. 26 and 10 a.m. Feb. 2. The only items missing were pictures that had been removed from a wall. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.
